Air Ambulance & Medical Repatriation
Alba Consulting was established by Andrew McGill. He formerly ran the aviation department for a large International medical assistance company, covering Europe, Middle East and Africa. Before this, he had extensive experience managing commercial and flight operations departments within the aviation sector.
During this latter period Andrew amassed experience organising and managing a significant number of medical evacuation flights from these regions. He decided to establish Alba Consulting to concentrate more closely on a niche market which he considered to be under serviced. Alba was formed to further develop this market segment & raise the standards of service which clients could expect.
As part of our due diligence process we always undertake a detailed audit of the aircraft provider and medical team in advance of any mission. We maintain the highest standards of service to our clients, giving them peace of mind that their client / patient will be well taken care of.
Flights vary in their nature from every day illnesses such as Appendicitis through to gunshot wounds and explosive trauma. No two flights are the same and as part of our due diligence process, we determine the speciality that each operator has, whether medical or aviation related.
In recent years, airlines have been reducing the number of flights they operate, whilst increasing the charges for the availability that remains. This is having a direct effect on the availability of stretchers in which to repatriate patients in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
Alba can offer the repatriation of patients by means of a dedicated air ambulance aircraft or commercial repatriation. We shall also shortly be launching a new aircraft service which will be configured with 2 stretchers and 8 patient + 2 medical seats. The service will initially be operating from the Spanish mainland and the Balearics to the UK mainland on a weekly basis, to meet increased patient demand from this region. The aircraft will be available for part (1 seat) through to full capacity (8 seats + 2 stretchers).
