The Industry and Future Trends
It is considered that the price of fuel overall will continue to rise and that a portion of this cost will in turn be passed to patients through the increase in commercial stretchers rates, combined with and reduction of space availability. This is caused through airlines dropping scheduled routes as a means of cutting costs on loss making sectors. Airlines see stretcher repatriations as inefficient in the operation of their aircraft as patients arriving late can delay an aircraft and thus increase passenger displeasure as well as logistical costs on the ground.
More and more patients and clients will be left to find an alternative means to travel and Alba intend to be at the forefront of providing one of many solutions which will be required in the coming months and years.
The Market and Territory
The market for Air Ambulance and Security evacuation will continue to expand so long as businesses go on sending their staff further afield to distant parts of the globe. The further aircraft fly, the smaller the world becomes and the more likely that an accident or terrorist atrocity will occur to a member of your staff.
Ask yourself. Are you prepared?
With this in mind, Alba are involved in establishing a new air ambulance service from the Spanish Mainland and the Balearics / Canaries back to the UK. It is anticipated that this service will extend to further destinations in the short to medium term.
